Ensure the clamp has the correct size for the pipe  you are working with, the clamp should match the diameter of the pipe. Mounting surface should be clean, dry, and strong enough to support the saddle clamp.

Position the clamp around the pipe  at the desired location. When using a base plate, ensure the clamp is properly aligned with the base. Mark the positions for the drill holes on the mounting surface through the base plates holes.

Using a heat gun, heat up one side of the clamp until it’s soft and pliable. If the  clamp has a separate base plate, place the base plate over the drilled holes and insert the bolts. Tighten the bolts with nuts and washers (if required) to secure the base plate to the mounting surface. Place the pipe inside the clamp. Ensure the clamp is properly aligned around the pipe.

Saddle clamp for water line

In a water line, it is used to securely attach pipes to an existing water source. It can be used to tap into the main line for branch connections, such as adding a secondary water line, or to repair leaks by covering damaged areas with a tight seal. In large water distribution systems, saddle clamps are used to secure pipes to supporting structures or frameworks. This prevents pipes from shifting, which could cause stress on the joints or lead to potential leaks.
