Globe valve types

Globe valve working principle

It works like faucet, when you turn the handle in anticlockwise direction, the plug inside the valve is triggered making it to move up and down. In its open position the plug moves upwards creating a space for liquid or gas to flow through.When closed, the plug presses down blocking the flow completely.

• Globe are used in systems requiring precise flow and throttling while gate valves are designed for systems that require full flow or shut off
• They have lower risk of leakage while gate valves have higher risk of leakage if not fully closed or opened
• Globe valves are unidirectional whereas gate valves are bidirectional
